In Part I, Dr. Fred Kirschenmann, Distinguished Fellow at the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture, addresses the first two elements in his explanation for the need for resilience in our agricultural system; energy and water.

In Part II Dr. Kirschenmann explores the issues of climate change and soil depletion, concluding there is a need to marry traditional agricultural wisdom with the best technological developments available.
